David Collins at Home

I happened to pick up the December issue of Spanish AD this week and was left swooning over the London apartment of designer David Collins. Of course, I can’t read a word of Spanish so I can’t help you with any of the details but I think the photos speak for themselves. Mr. Collins has locked his online portfolio so I scanned in the article and also found some other photos online elsewhere. You can see the difference styling and finishing touches can make to a space. I love how the beige chairs above look reupholstered in two new fabrics below. The hints of lilac in the blue room also look amazing! I think it might be my new favorite color combination! Too bad we can’t see what else David Collins has been up to online! I bet it’s just as fabulous!

pretty. but why can i NEVER keep david collins and david easton straight? and are either of them as cute as david oliver? (i’ll stop now- sorry).

thanks for scanning those in, chic- i know how time consuming it can be! i’ve had a stack of mags on my desk since new years, with maybe a dozen or so pages marked to scan, and have done about 3.

So swoon worthy…love it to death. His apartment is also in the latest Aussie “Belle” magazine which has new photos and readable text!

What a find! I, too, love the lilac touches with the blue. I’ve been trying to figure out how to best incorporate my obsession for “purple” in a more masculine setting to please my hubby…This is like divine inspiration – THANK YOU!

LOVE David Collins, he’s been a personal fave of mine…I must admit I adore his hospitality work, theatrical and cheeky while always remaining relevant to location, concept and venue…just the way I prefer a pricey dinner or drink;) Thanks!

    Best,

Spanish AD is one of my FAVORITE magazines – really well done. It almost makes me want to go out and learn Spanish….almost….lazy here.

Oh my! I don’t know which I love more—that sultry, long, navy sofa or the eggplant abstract above it?! Stunning. Now if only we’d studied Spanish…

I’m so excited. These images are beautiful & I have a very similar color palette in our bedroom. Love lavender & blue together. Thanks for the beauty.

I love the little nook under the staircase. Great use of space which is typically overlooked.

Loved the flat too but I had already seen it in “Luxuryculture.com” which is a truly interesting weekly newsletter.

Don’t u like Spanish AD, Heather?… I am just crazy about that magazine (though I understand little Spanish). So fresh and colorful compared to other magazines. I think it quite compensates for the loss of Domino.

I agree. Love the lilacs with the smoky blues and what stunning artwork. It really works well together as one interior. Thanks for sharing this one.

Soo beautiful and clean looking. Funny how you never see any dust bunnies floating around, LOL. I guess that would be too real world. Have a great day!

    Love

This apt is to die for… I love all the colors and mirrored accents. Everything works together so perfectly.

I clipped these too when I saw them online last year – the greys and mauves are so delicate but it still feels masculine with the hard-edged sofas

Feels really fresh. Reminds me a bit of Kelly Wearstler’s new stuff.

I love the blue (teal?) velvet on the sofa! I wonder if it is cotton or mohair?
