At Home in Argentina
by habituallychic
06 . 29 . 09I received a lot of responses to the post on Etiqueta Negra store post. Seems many of you have been to the store in Buenos Aires and really loved it. You may also enjoy a peek inside the Buenos Aires country home of the owners Paula Cahen D’Anvers and Federico Alvarez Castillo that was published in the January 2005 issue of World of Interiors. What I love is the down to earth realness of the interiors. It’s not over done or fancy. It looks like a truly relaxing weekend country home full of treasures found at “flea markets, antique shops and junk shops.” The article mentions that the family has a saying, “a happy man’s home is never finished.” I think that all of us collectors can relate to. Enjoy!

Beautiful home! You know it’s very similar to my own decorating style and although it looks casually eclectic, getting the right balance of “down to earth” decor takes a lot of editing and control. For most of us our homes just end up looking like a garage sale! 🙂
The checkered floor looks sooo good with pink curtains! And agreed with Jen, this style must be really hard to balance…
I love the floors in the kitchen and bath, and that blue and yellow in the living room is so fresh and bright.
That last shot – sigh.
Love the first pic of the kitchen. What an interesting (yet successful) combo of floors, rafters, chandelier, table. I especially love the line of trees looking into the house too.
I am so very drawn to the black and white floor and the multiple framed pics on the wall. Love!
i am in love with that kitchen! so sweet!

Hi! Great looking place! I was trying to track down some more pics, but was not able to. I’d love to see more of the floor-plan, as we are about to renovate a long, semi narrow barn, here in Sweden. if you come up with any ideas, I’d appreciate the info!
Thanks for making such a really great site!
