Three Days of the Condor

It was freezing and windy in New York today and unfortunately I think they already turned the heat off in my building even though it’s not quite spring. So all I want to do is curl up on my sofa with blanket and watch a movie, preferably one without subtitles. Makes me wish I owned a copy of Three Days of the Condor. It was one of my favorite movies growing up and I still love it. Robert Redford looked so ruggedly handsome and even though it premiered in 1975, his clothes don’t look that dated. In fact, he looks a heck of a lot better than a lot of men I see on the street today!

  2. Musette April 5, 2009 | 1:16 am

    Beauty is never outdated.

    Great movie, too!

  3. At Home with Kim Vallee April 5, 2009 | 3:43 am

It is at time like this that I feel sad that the oldest video store in our neighborhood closed a few months ago. The other one only carries big busters. Robert Redford is one of the rare blond men that I found handsome.

oh my robert redford looks amazing in this movie…

he looked great in the way we were too, don’t you agree?

    Sharp dresser!

  7. A Gift Wrapped Life April 5, 2009 | 1:06 pm

I have spent way too much time in my life thinking about Robert redford…….this photo reminds me why!

    * HEY!… “It’s not NICE to fool mother nature!”~~~ (Thinking about “MY” RR this early, especially on a Sunday morning, makes me think I’d better go to church today!!!)~~~~~~ Smiles, grins, winks & a big THANK YOU for a LUSCIOUS LOOK at this “REAL” man, not today’s so-called Hollywood studs who don’t hold a candle to his sexiness! Oh, how Y*U*M*M*Y!!! Linda *

  9. Linda/"Mom" April 5, 2009 | 1:26 pm

    * (P.S. How about a pic of him & “OUR” most beloved Paul Newman together, too??? The two of them in Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid were “STUDLINESS DEFINED”!!!~~~ And when I mentioned him to my DH just now, he quickly reminded me that “his” Katherine Ross was the gift of beauty in the movie to him!!!)

Condor was a great movie. Set between New York and Washington. The CIA. Scholars as Researchers. Faye Dunaway. Hit Men.

Intelligence in a movie. Rare. Sadly. Now we get what? Seth Rogen as a Mall Security Guard?

Anonymous – I love all the fun comments today!

Musette – I was amazed that his clothes don’t look outdated!

At Home with Kim Vallee – me too! I was wishing I could go out and pick up a movie or have Kozmo deliver one. Do you remember them? Those were the days!

SK – I don’t love The Way We Were. I tried. But this one is my favorite!

A Day in the Life – it’s the name of the movie!

M – I wish I could find a man today who dresses like that!

A Gift Wrapped Life – too funny!

Linsa – Let’s keep it clean! My parent’s read this! I love Katherine Ross in The Graduate!

Washington Cube – Ha! I was thinking that too! I guess we need some laughs these days but I miss intelligent movies. The Interpreter came close but it wasn’t quite as good as Three Days of the Condor.

Robert Redford was soooo gorgeous when he was young! He still is a handsome man.

  13. Amie Gillingham April 5, 2009 | 4:48 pm

Wow, it’s probably been 15 years or more since I saw it last. I’m going to have to put it in my Netflix crew. In the interim, I’ll just have to be satisfied with my personal collection of RR in Out of Africa, The Natural, and The Candidate. That man embodies timeless male chic.

  14. Coffee with Cathy April 5, 2009 | 5:18 pm

Robert Redford is a class act, literally. I think he was my first movie-star crush! Thanks so much for reminding me why.

  17. hello gorgeous April 6, 2009 | 2:22 am

I LOVED this movie. I must own it, too.

    *swoon*

I watch Barefoot in the Park all the time because he is gorgeous and The Way We Were.

  18. ArchitectDesign April 6, 2009 | 1:21 pm

I need to see this movie! His style never seems to date – it says something for always dressing ‘classic’ (that way you don’t have embaressing photos or movies to look back on!).

  19. Susan's Snippets April 6, 2009 | 4:54 pm

    HC –

I first fell in LOVE with him in 1973 at the DuPage Movie Theatre when I watched him act in The Way We Were.

    purrrr

  20. Ursula April 6, 2009 | 6:11 pm

Love the tag for this post–“handsome man I wish existed in real life.” I laughed to myself. Don’t we all? I’m still waiting.

  21. Easy and Elegant Life April 6, 2009 | 6:57 pm

You’re right. And that is the beauty of wearing clothing that is well-cut, subtle and classic. You might not turn fashionable heads (as Mr. Redford undoubtedly would) today, but neither will you in twenty years wearing the same things. A great lesson in casual chic.

  22. Habitually Chic April 6, 2009 | 7:18 pm

Ivory Pearl – no wonder I like blonde men lately!

Amie – Out of Africa is my other RR movie!

Coffee with Cathy – I don’t remember my first movie star crush except maybe Leif Garrett!

Red Ticking – Let me know what you think after but I know you will love it!

Blue Muse – seems to be the sentiment of the day!

Hello Gorgeous – I used to Watch Barefoot in the Park too which is funny now that I live in NYC just like them!

Stefan/AD – you will love the scenes set in DC. It’s such a smart movie!

Susan – the rhymes you come up with make me smile!

Ursula – I was wondering if anyone would notice that one! Makes me laugh to myself too!

Easy and Elegant – there is a woman who works in fashion who I keep seeing jackets that remind me of a band leader or Michael Jackson and I don’t care if it is some expensive designer, I think she looks silly! And she will definitely look silly in photos someday down the road! I think there is something to be said for dressing simply and elegantly!

Thats so funny. I just came across your blog tonight. I have just finished watching this movie. It was on TV here and I had only just said hubba hubba He is a “sponkerdoodle” this is a new word my daughters made up but I had forgotten how gorgeous he was in every way. I even love his voice. That was such a great movie and I loved “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” In fact I like most of his movies.
