Spring Fling
by habituallychic
03 . 12 . 08It’s still chilly in New York but it’s been sunny the last few days so there is a sense of excitement in the air that Spring is just around the corner. I love Autumn but there is something about Spring that makes it my favorite season. Maybe it’s because my birthday is in April or all the beautiful fragrant flowers that are abound or the birds that are chirping. The whole city comes alive too. Everyone is so happy to shed their heavy coats and feel the sunshine. It’s glorious! And so is the cover of the April issue of Martha Stewart Living! Have you ever seen such a beautiful bouquet?! I love it! Happy Almost Spring!

Amen to Spring!!
Here is what I had to say about Chicago’s weather…

Enjoy!!
Oh, Boy!
Susan, Unless it’s supposed to snow, I refuse to wear boots ever again this year. Ballet flats and jeans is my new uniform, cold wind be damned!
Well, living in So. California I’ve never had an opportunity to wear my beautiful coats….so I actually miss having seasons….oh, the grass is always greener! I loved this cover of MS. Spring is in the air, indeed.
That is indeed a stunning bouquet!
I’m hanging in for Spring as well. We’ve had the same teasing weather this week, lots of sun and a slight rise in the temperature so that I’ve abandoned the scarf and gloves…. outrageous!
Your comment about boots is so funny – I made the same decision this week! No more boots until Winter. Bring on my ballet flats (and the strappy sky-high sandals as well)!
Me, Myself and I, Wanna switch? The older I get, the more I dream of moving to a warmer climate. I’m so ready for spring!
Alice, You’re funny. I am still wearing my scarf but I’ve given up the gloves and boots. I am so over them that I feel like burning them! I also just bought some high heeled sandals that I can’t wait to wear! I am so excited for warmer weather!
Heather, I thought it was an amazing cover too 🙂 Their seasonal things are always so lush.
Ms Chic,
Beautiful arrangement on the cove — and I am kind of liking that intense yellow on the walls.
I am an April Birthday girl, too, which works out rather well not only because the flower pickings are good but also because I can give myself a birthday gift of Spring fashion. (This year I went classic handbag… but it varies.)
To that end, I applaud all of you who have managed to get out of the boots and other trappings of winter. I am still in booties AND gloves! Maybe this weekend I’ll try to lighten up.
As always, thanks for the inspiration!
Hello, found you through bloglines & I think I have a new favorite blog! Anyone who enjoys design, Martha, Domino, & lives in NYC sounds like fun to me!

Courtney, Such a beautiful cover! I can’t wait for spring now!
CB, I love the yellow color too! In fact, I just got back from the paint store where I bought a vintage looking yellow color to paint my TV armoire. It’s currently white and sits against a white wall so I thought the yellow would be fun. I can’t wait to repaint it!
Happy Almost Birthday to you too! What day is yours? Mine is the 18th. I’m still trying to figure out what I want for mine. I really want a real zebra skin rug. I may have to splurge or ask my family for it.
Hope it warms up soon for you!!!
Hi Jessica! Welcome! I am having a lot of fun!
Would you believe we have the same birth date? You, me and little Suri Cruise. But I won’t go there….
CB, Are you serious? How funny! In addition to Suri, Brooke Shield’s daughter also shares our birthday. Even weirder!
Totally serious. And I forgot about the second Shields baby… a popular date, indeed. Enjoy the countdown!
Also, I love the idea of a vintage-y yellow armoire against a white wall. Sounds crisp without being too much so — if that makes any sense.
CB, I’m so counting down! I can’t wait!
I will have to post some photos later but I have to wait until a certain favorite design magazine looks at them first! Fingers crossed!!!
