Get in line now ladies, Diane von Furstenberg is set to launch her first line of shoes next month. After her daughter suffered from back problems and was forced to wear ugly orthopedic shoes, DVF made it her mission to create stylish and comfortable shoes.

“I wanted to create power shoes for the woman on-the-go and on her feet,” said von Furstenberg. “My shoes are not just pretty accessories; they are functional and serve a purpose. Women on-the-go need power, comfort, and fashion.”

The collection will consist of 12 looks of heels and flats and will range in price from $195 to $350. Much less than Christian Louboutin and also more modern. My favorite pair are called the CEO, a leather platform slingback with a chunky heel that I spied in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar. I will definitely be stalking my favorite stores until I find them! Happy Shopping!

Thank God! I think men should be banned from making women’s shoes–no matter how great they may look.

Last week Oprah had a segment about Cole Haan’s pumps with Nike Air technology. I suppose this is the same “technology” they’ve had for a few years. I haven’t tried it myself, but Oprah seemed duly impressed.

BA, I second that! I’ve killed myself so long wearing heels that I’ve actually starting wearing more flats. So I’ve very excited to try on her new shoes. I also love the chunky heels that look like they won’t get caught in sidewalk grates!

Mamacita, I’ve always wanted to check out Cole Haan’s pumps with Nike technology. I think the DVF shoes just have padding and wider heels for comfort.

Yum! Hope they are picked up by Lane Crawford!

looking forward to these! with metal in my spine, my back definitely tells me not to wear heels anymore.

the cole haan technology is brilliant…it’s one of the few pairs of shoes that I can wear daily and not suffer or end up at my chiro’s office mulitple times a week.

Richie Designs, If you endorse the Cole Haan Nike Technology, I might have to check them out.

I also endorse Cole Haan – they’re extremely comfortable and some of the designs are fabulous!

If DVF’s shoes are as stylish and comfortable as some of her signature clothing pieces, like the wrap dress for instance, I’m sure the shoes will be investments. I’ll be on the look-out for them too.

comfort…? what is this word comfort you speak of so fondly? 😉

I have to say, I feel blessed to be able to wear heels and rarely feel any discomfort. I think I’ve just worn them daily for so long that I don’t even think about it anymore.

But it’s interesting to see everyone focusing on comfort as well as aesthetic beauty. It only bodes well for out fabulous feet! If anyone can do it, DVF can…
