How come I never found an internship that sent me to Paris?! Good thing I can live vicariously through Lauren and Whitney! I can’t wait until these shows air in the spring! Until then, I guess I will have to make due with Gossip Girl.

I want to go to Paris too. Tomorrow is my 25th birthday!! That would be an awesome gift to go to Paris–haha I wish! I just wanted to say I am totally obsessed with your blog, not only is it great to have a blog finally from a new yorker (like myself), but so many of your posts I have teared out of the magazines cause they are my favorites. Over the past year I realized that I really have a passion for interior design and I would love to make a career out of it, I am the worst drawer though, but I think I have a good eye for design. I was wondering if you had any advice for how I could get my foot in the door with design. Do you think a designer would hire me as an assistant even though i don’t have experience, I would be willing to start at the bottom, I just want to learn. I don’t know where to begin or where to look. Hope to hear from you and I can’t wait to see your new posts, keep up the brilliant work.

Bon Anniversaire Ashley! I say save as much money as you can and go to Paris as soon as you can. It really is a life changing experience. I normally wouldn’t advize this sort of thing but if you really can’t wait and save, put it on a credit card and go! But don’t tell your mother I said that!!!

Now to design. Did you know that Charlotte Moss can’t draw?! In this day and age, you don’t really have to draw. AutoCAD is what a lot of firms require these days. But we hired many little bottom of the rung assistants who had no experience and definitely couldn’t draw so just go for it! Check out the New York School of Interior Design and talk to them not just about classes but for advice about where they suggest you start. But you could always start your own blog to have something to show or put together scheme boards on your own to show how dedicated you are. If you want a career in design, make it happen! And feel free to email me any time, habituallychic@gmail.com!

Lisa Love, Lauren’s boss at Teen Vogue, admitted that she ran away to Paris at 15! Wish I’d had the guts (or thought) to do that!
Great advice to Ashley. Don’t dream it, do it! You’ll never regret it.

How crazy is that at 15-that’s guts and determination!! I am trying to plan a trip to go to Paris in April and to Italy, because my sister is studying abroad in Florence. So I will hopefully be going. I love that topsy turvy “dont dream it, do it” I agree 100%. thank you!!!

Topsy Turvy, They didn’t show the whole story but Lisa Love said she sold her pair of snake skin boots to afford the trip! Definitely wish I had done that at her age!

Ashley, I also want to plan a trip to Paris in April for my birthday. I hope we both get to go! And you should definitely go to Florence if your sister is there. It’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The light is amazing! And there is a store called Falsi Gioielli that sells amazing and reasonably priced necklaces. I have one that I bought there that is my absolute favorite!

Pink Wallpaper, it’s definitely fabulous escapist television. I heard that they recruited guys to introduce the girls to in Paris but who cares. The guy Lauren hooks up with is dreamy!

and very fashionable (the parisian guy) . However, Brody. goodness. That is a fly white boy. 😛
